At this time, there is nothing you can do but I recommend you to check the discontinued source list from Scopus before submitting your future research papers. The recent list is here:

This looks like a somewhat confusing and sad story. The journal “International Journal of Advanced Research in Engineering and Technology” is according to the Scopus sources site still indexed: https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/21100944103 and indeed in the October Scopus title list they were still mentioned (see enclosed file). Even stronger, in the list of discontinued titles of December 2020 as provided by Mohammed O. Al-Amr this title is not mentioned.

So, if your information is correct than this indicates that Scopus is far from flawless. On numerous occasions questioned and discussed here on RG I see examples where Scopus is lax in keeping their databases up to date (and reacts even slower in detecting and acting in cases of the so-called hijacked journals).

You did the maximum you could in ensuring that you are dealing with a Scopus indexed journal. As said by Mohammed O. Al-Amr already if this (not indexed anymore) turns out to be true, I am afraid not much can be done about this. For future submissions it is good to realize a number of things when you try to estimate whether you are dealing with a legit and genuine publisher/journal:

-Scopus takes roughly two years’ time to evaluate a ‘final’ indexing. The journal you talked about was indexed for the first time in 2019 (in other words still under evaluation)

-It is important to realize that the publisher behind this journal “International Association for Engineering and Management Education (IAEME)” is mentioned in the Beall’s list: https://beallslist.net/

-In the October list of indexed titles in Scopus you can see that this publisher has/had five journals indexed of which two are discontinued and three are only indexed recently.

-Scopus indexed or not it is not a good sign that this journal (publisher) uses misleading metrics such as a prominent mentioned fake impact factor (JIF is an example of fake one) and fake indexes, notorious ones like CiteFactor and DRJI. All together (in retrospect) there are too many signs that seems to indicate that you are dealing with a potential predatory publisher (and journal) here. If your information is true and the journal is no longer indexed, then this seems to confirm this indication.

Again, I am afraid not much can be done about it anymore. Your experience demonstrates that a ‘blind’ believe in such a thing as a Scopus indexing is not enough to be sure that you are dealing with a safe journal.

Thanks a lot for your reply but as we know that the Scopus journal list provides the journal Scopus indexed I think is also the fault of Scopus to refresh its database according to that the journal cancelled in June 2020, but it appears in October 2020 "ongoing" unlike other journal we can't find it in Scopus

You have to check the Scopus discontinued journal list before submitting articles. Usually Scopus updates the main page every few months while the discontinued journal list is updated weekly. In this case you can not get the money back and you can not republish the article in another journal. just try to forget it and not to think too much about it.

In relation to my previous reply (and your finding about IJARET) do have a look at the enclosed file. In the most recent update of the list of discontinued titles in Scopus, the next two titles of the publisher IAEME are discontinued:

-International Journal of Engineering Research and Technology

-International Journal of Management

PS. Unfortunately, Scopus is not only that fast in communicating about (no longer…) indexing but in correcting/updating the Scopus sources site as well (will take another month or so for now it still mentions nothing about discontinued https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/21100944103 ).
