AMOS can be got free. Additionally, SMART PLS is used as an alternative for CFA and SEM. Similarly, you can also perform CFA and SEM in STATA. I have worked on all these three and enjoyed STATA comparatively.
Dear, there are a lots of videos have discussed the CFA and SEM in STATA, I would recommend once have a look there please, if you were unable, don't hesitate to ask me.
AMOS is not free software; it is owned by IBM SPSS. The other limitation about AMOS is that it is only available for Windows OS machines; the same is true for LISREL. For other commercially sold software, EQS is available for Windows or linux, but not Mac OS. Mplus is available for Windows, Mac, or linux; the same is true for Stata. SAS has a procedure, CALIS, which can be used for SEM analysis (annual license required). Finally, SmartPLS 3 is available for Windows or Mac OS (annual license required).
I endorse Holger's recommendation of the R library, lavaan; it's free, very good, and available for Windows, Mac, or linux. Other R libraries, such as OpenMx, and sem, are also available.
A review of 8 SEM programs (did not include SmartPLS) showed that all yielded very comparable results (to two decimal places), though each has its own set of strengths: Narayanan, A. (2012). A review of eight software packages for structural equation modeling, The American Statistician, 66(2), 129-138, doi:10.1080/00031305.2012.708641
Pleased to say accept my gratitude for your valuable suggestion.
As you mentioned, Holger's was adviced me very soon following post; and yet, I was not familiar with R programming that makes me to return back and search other alternatives.
Now, I have attending R-" lavaan " tutorials from you-tube archives.
The student version is not too costly, but it cannot be compared to R of course, since R is freeware. I've had problem with the SEM package of R (Lavaan), though, I was not able to make it work.
There is a free software Tetrad which we use for model testing. Please try the same and give me your review about your experience at [email protected] in our institute test the graduate students model on Tetrad. It is similar to AMOS.Even I cannot work on R as if a code goes wrong my whole work stops there.I am also more comfortable with AMOS.
Personally, I prefer AMOS. It's very simple. I use the lavaas package in R studio, but I'm just a beginner. However, it looks nice, and the main advantage is that it's free.
