We are interested in using a cell line like this to study ferroptotic cell death.
We know previously, other researchers used for instance SH-SY5Y cells and transfected them with hTau or APP to induce increased expression of Aβ. But do you know whether one can get this or similar cell line transfected already? Is someone willing to share these kind of cells? Your help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Indeed, the overexpression of Aβ or Tau proteins, especially when aggregated, are deleterious conditions and cells hardly survive the condition for a long time. I propose you overexpress those genes by using vectors in SHSY-5Y cell line. SHSY-5Y cell line is a neuroblastoma dopaminergic cell line, widely used for in vitro modeling of Parkinson's disease .

I agree with Arman. A transient transfection or the generation of an inducible cell line is probably the most feasible approach. I'm pretty sure that such a cell line already exists in the academic space. The question is, where?
