I want to know why some researchers coat iron oxide or make iron oxide chitosan(or other proteins) composite for heavy metal removal.... what's the advantage of coating iron oxide in heavy metal removal... as I know iron oxide itself adsorbs heavy metal, so why coating? or making composite? what's the problem with using pure iron oxide?
