Hello everyone, can someone tell me the exact differences in the different parameters (florescent dye, number of standards, quantity of the template...) of the real-time PCR for the HBV and HCV virus. I elready have my protocols I just need to know other researchers experiment's conditions to optimize mine. Thank you in advance

First of all, HBV is DNA virus and HCV is RNA virus, so HCV detection requires reverse transcription:) As for linear ranges for quantitation, HCV never reaches 10+12 or even 10+10 copies/ml of human blood, like HBV does.
But you indeed can use the same PCR conditions to successfully quantify both HCV and HBV - it depends on the design of your primers and probes
