Folk usually assume sewage carbon is all biogenic, so when it gets turned to CO2 in a wastewater plant the emissions are "greenhouse neutral". But that's not really the case with all the fossil-based detergents we use domestically. The bad good thing is, its so long since all those atmospheric nuclear bomb tests, its really expensive to find traces of carbon-14 analytically when testing sewage inflows...
