I am interested in information in regard to commercial suppliers for Inverse Photoemission Spectroscopy instrumentation and also in comments of persons experienced in working with such equipment. Where are the problems and what should we be aware of when purchasing such equipment? I noticed that there are two different types of detectors: solid state and Geiger Mueller type detectors. Thanks
I am interested too ! though IPES is notably difficult to perform (expect 100 counts/sec/Sr) and not very resolved (compared to NEXAFS...). What I see in the literature is not very encouraging, at least for the carbonaceous materials I am interested in. In Europe, PSP Vacuum ltd sells the complete setup, with a solid state detector. Not too expensive and certainly very good (I have some of their instruments; see also the C60 spectrum they show on their website), but I am not sure I will go for it... If you have further information from persons using it, I would be also interested to learn from their experience.
