Hi,

I am currently working on simulating laser welding stainless steel 304, where focus of the simulation is upon having a proper shielding of the weld using argon (using ANSYS Fluent).

The simulation includes the experienced recoil of the metal vapours when laser welding, as such I am to input the properties corresponding to those of the metal vapours.

A lot of scavenging the internet has shown that the properties exist for both solid and liquid metals, but when it comes to the gasious form the information is quite difficult to find, which leaves me empty handed, and leading me to ask you guys for help.

The properties in question are:

Density

Cp (specific heat)

Thermal Conductivity

Viscosity

And at this point I would be satisfied with using any information on any type of metal, just to be able to simulate something close to reality.

Thank you in advance,

Jesper
