I'm gonna perform LCM again, and I was wondering if anyone has had success in performing it from normal (e.g. superfrost) slides. In the past I was recommended PEN slides and I was successful with them, but they are pretty expensive, so I'm trying to see if I can perform the LCM from cheaper slides.
Has anyone succeeded?

You could use the "Ablation Mode" to cut tissue from slides, but I would not recommend this as you would UV-illuminate the tissue you are seeking to analyse afterwards. I would be afraid of photo-crosslinks etc.
It's definitley more gentle to your sample to just cut around your cells of interest with a precise, sub-micron cutting line as the MMI CellCut does.
