If you're looking to broaden your search you could look into Psychological Capital (if you haven't already). It is the combination of Hope, Optimism (as different variables), resilience, and self-efficacy.
PsyCap is a very useful avenue for broadening your scope. You may want to look at recent studies investigating personal resources and positive emotions in the workplace, which often use PsyCap as a theoretical basis. For example, Else Ouweneel wrote her PhD thesis "Building Towards Engagement" (2012) in which she also studies these concepts.
They span a lot of discipline's don't they... Might be useful to look at a concept analysis then! Thank you all fir your help. I am putting all this is my scope / plan...
Hi Arthur, I am specifically looking at the influence of optimism on coping strategies employes and compering them to the influence of Hope on coping strategies. There are few studies that look at all three to give solid comparisons. If you think your data might help that would be fabulous. I had not come across the meta-analysis yet so thank you for that. Happy Christmas.
