Hello! I am hoping someone can provide some insight.

We are trying to perform a no choice leaf disk assay using strawberry and F. occidentalis ( western flower thrips) females.

We have starved the selected females 24h and have then placed 10 with the leaf disk for 48 hours.

We have not observed score-able damage, even if we leave the thrips longer. They do feed if placed with a whole plant of the same variety.

Our next step will be to increase the number of female thrips.

Any suggestions?

Thank you for taking the time to read.

Regards,

Kelly
