Hello, dear colleagues from the world of science,

I have recently started investigating the process of copper ions biosorption using eggshells as an adsorbent. I have studied multiple bio-materials for this purpose before, and the pseudo-second order kinetic model was always proven to be the best fit for the analyzed kinetic data. This is also the case with the vast majority of available literature and scientific papers on biosorption. However, I have analyzed the kinetics of the biosorption process on eggshells multiple times, always with the same results... The pseudo-first order and the intraparticle diffusion kinetic models are much better fits for this process than the pseudo-second order model. Did anyone come across something similar during their research?

I really appreciate any help and suggestions.

Best regards,

Miljan
