As we know AuNPs have surface plasmon resonance (SPR) property. when we modified or functionalized AuNPs with either short or long polymers, does it impact on its SPR properties?
Note that some authors say that covering all the surface of the AuNPs with antibodies or other proteins may reduce AuNPs aggregation and subsequently SPR phenomenon.

Yes, due to the change of the effective refractive index of surrounding media the LSPR wavelength of AuNP will shift. Note that the size of the organic shell is relatively small compared to the wavelength and that the RI of organic compounds do not differ very much from the solutions (~1.5 vs ~1.33). Therefore, the overall effect might be not that large, but in most cases still measurable.
