What kind of Plaxis version are you using? 2D or 3D?

You should note that in version 2D, the geotextile element is available and very effective to use. The difference between geotextile and geogrid is in the stretching description. The true nature of geotextile with stretching is described well by using geotextile elements in Plaxis 2D.

When you decide to use the geogrid element to describe for geotextile, it is advised carefully in choosing material properties to ensure an equivalent ability.

Moreover, you should note to define the bond between geotextile and other structures (soil, anchor, wall,...). it is so important because the failure in linking geotextile with wall-soil leads to the consequence that geotextile will not work.

Actually i use 2D version of Plaxis and i could not see any more definition except EA of geogrid, and interface Rinter of soil to represent the soil-goetextile interaction.. is there any more definitions or is that all?

By the time so many paper models the geowall with a face wall, but that time wall takes lot of tension on itself. i dont want to add a wall since i want to make just geotextile bears the tension and conventional method ignores the wall and calculation includes just only geotextile..

I understand that you are trying to check the tension of geogrid, and is an interesting point in your study.

In Plaxis 2D, the geotextile element with yellow color appears on the toolbar and you can choose. I used Plaxis version 7.2 to 8.5 and this element is available.

Regarding the definition of materials, EA or so-called tensile stiffness is a fundamental parameter and needs to be defined exactly to ensure the tension. you can try with EA smaller 2000 kN/m.

The Rinter only represents the frictional coefficient along with the soil-geosynthetic interface. It is therefore involved in shear stress and friction mobilization but not relates to the tensile ability of geotextile.

On the other hand, to test the tensile ability of geotextile, you can try with two piles and place geotextile on the head of the pile, and apply loads. If you see that geotextile deflected significantly and output the tensile force, which can conclude that geotextile is working well and vice versus.

Finally, Please note the definition of the loading steps, and at what time geotextile is installed. It is important because the geotextile is only deformed if loading is right.
