In the middle of Toronto city there are quite a lot of parks (natural ) that are not touched by the City for commercial construction e.g: Edward garden , that would be a geopark !!!
A geopark is a unified area that advances the protection and use of geological heritage in a sustainable way, and promotes the economic well-being of the people who live there.[1] There are global geoparks and national geoparks.. the people fell relax at this park
Can be A) a natural area of geological importance, that should have geological, geomorphological and related features preserved as heritage; B) a specifically developed one where specimens/samples of rocks, fossils, minerals etc. that are of geological significance, especially which are rare ones, are kept for the benefit of Geoscientists, Reserachers, Students and other stake holders.
Establishing Geoparks certainly needs assistance from various stakeholders, departments etc., as it requires a certain space, planning and further infra-structure development.
In Pakistan, we can have certain Geoparks. For example, Noshwera Reef complex can be one of the Geopark. It should be preserved as a Geopark and I will suggest to the Government to construct a Geological Museum or Natural History Museum (to attract wider public) having different galleries. Such museum(s) can be helpful for Geoscientists, researchers, students and other related and common people.
