Developed countries are technologically advanced and develop technologies that are key elements of the technological revolution known as Industry 4.0. It is not easy to diagnose whether a specific developing country is fully prepared for the technological development typical of Industry 4.0 because there are many determinants describing this development. Above all, these determinants include the scale and pace of development of innovative startups developing new information technologies, in addition developed programs supporting development of these innovative startups, participation of technology sectors in economic values developed by the entire economy measured, among others, by the macroeconomic Gross Domestic Product. In addition, there is also a branch structure of the national economy and answers to questions such as: is the economy based to a large extent on knowledge and technology, including the development of information services, has a well-developed infrastructure for media, IT and Internet communication? To this should also be added an analysis of the state of implementation of information and Internet technologies and new advanced information processing technologies for various industries. It may also be important to switch from traditional technologies to new pro-ecological technologies in the energy sector, development of renewable energy sources, electromobility, etc. if in these processes a significant share of necessary new information technologies can be diagnosed.
Note, the technology of 4IR is interwoven with a social strand. We are seeing a new generation that appreciates sharing of space more than ever and have more respect for the planet. Understanding that duality is crucial to the state (policy-making) and firms engaged in long-term planning. Cf. Preprint Transport and the Fourth Industrial Revolution
