Rafiq, last time I was in the UK it was market driven and I suspect still is, which means of course expensive rent and excessive selling prices. The average price for a house in the Central districts was about a million pounds. The average monthly rent for a one bedroom apartment was about 2,000 pounds. A room alone would cost at a minimum 500 pounds a month.

In the United States, US Citizens and eligible non-citizens get Federal funding for subsidised rental housing in three ways (see the graphic).

Depending on classes, different class of people want houses with swimming so housing industry in uganda may not be expensive for dollar and euro class.

For the locals, it is not affordable but for foreigners it may be depending where they come from. Its a challenge on rise.
