As for as I believe asthma was simply a disease resulting from allergen exposure but this study suggests that it has got a genetic linkage.
I your real life or clinical experience do you think or have experience of any genetic linkage?

a combination of the genetic factor with the environmental conditions factor and way of lifestyle of an individual are the main driver of those diseases including asthma.

Asthma runs strongly in families and is about half due to genetic susceptibility and about half due to environmental factors. The strong familial clustering of asthma has encouraged an increasing volume of research into the genetic predisposition to disease.
I don't know why Asthma is a genetic disease!! Few doctors told me that Asthma can be transmittable i.e parents to offspring. But I have known some person who are suffering from this disease but No history of their parents or great grand parents.

There is a strong genetic link, which can be checked in early childhood, but it should not be overvalued.
Both genetic and environmental factors play important role in the development of asthma. Exposure to different allergens (such as the pollens, house-dusts, mites), micro-organisms, chemicals, vapours, fumes and dusts can precipitate asthma, but cannot be blamed alone to cause asthma. On the other hand, asthma is not a pure genetic disorder. It arises de novo in a large number of patients without the presence of any family history. Yes, asthma is hereditary. Inheritance in asthma and allergies do not appear in the entire family. For example, if one of the parents suffers from a type of allergy, the rate of injury of each child is between 70 and 90 percent. If one of the brothers is allergic, To 32 percent but the genetics factor may step down in a generation and appear in the next generation.
Much like many other conditions, genetics predispose an offsprings to have the asthma, whereas the environmental conditions and other external risk factors are much more detrimental to a person with genetic disposition than those who do not inherit the genetic risk factor.

The contributions of the previous experts are perhaps correct, both genetic and environmental factors including lifestyle play very important role in Asthma.
I want to share my personal experience with the experts.
During my college life, I was in a hostel situated in a lonely area.
Different types of grasses and bushes were there surrounding the hostels. At a distance of 3 -4 kilometer, there was an animal (cattle) farm.
Many of the resident students (including myself) suffered Asthma like problems during winter and spring months.
But we suffered no problem when we left hostel to go home in that period.
I had no previous history of Allergy or Asthma, and I never suffered such problems afterwards.
So, contribution of Environmental effects may be much more than genetic effects, at least in some cases, I think.

Yes, asthma is a genetic disease. If one of your biologic parents has or had asthma, then you are morely likely to develop asthma than if he or she did not have asthma. If both of your parents have asthma, you are even more likely to develop asthma than if only one parent has this condition.
