I'm trying to model an RC column under different loading conditions (concentric and eccentric) using displacement controlled loading at a rate of 2mm/min and of a total displacement of 36mm (experimental data gives a total displacement of 28) but I tried to go beyond that to verify the results. When trying to verify the results with the experimental data available from literature, My column always fails at an early stage at a displacement of about 2.2mm with an ultimate force of around 1000 KN, while it should fail at 1100KN at a displacement of 27 mm as in the experimental work, noting that a displacement of about 2.2 mm is causing an ultimate force of 1000 KN is also an issue in the modeling.

I tried several solutions including changing the Material models (Steel and Concrete), changing the size of the load, changing the loading rate and step size, and changing the mesh size, but none has worked for me.

attached below are images of materials properties and loading scenarios.

Any help would be appreciated.

Modeling Notes:

- LoadingStep is a Static general

- Loading time is 1080 sec to give 36 mm at a rate of 2mm/min

- Loading amplitude is linear

- Elements types are:

C3D8R Standard for Concrete and steel plates

T3D2 Standard for Steel Reinforcing bars
