I think your background color is white, which is why you are seeing the white screen. Try drawing molecules on the page.
If you want to change it to purple, go to File> Preferences>Display Format>Background color.
You can also click Default in the preferences menu, which will revert all settings to Default.

Open the gaussview, go to windows tab, click on cascade. And your problem is solved now.
