Dear all,

lately I get some serious contamination in my E. coli cultures. I suppose it is a fungus of some kind. I am using minimal medum with no trace elements and no vitamins, the only organic molecule in there is glucose (and lactose, auto-induction).

The supernatant is also extremely coloured, nearly fluorescently bright yellow... Normally the supernatant should be transparent.

I have attached a picture of the pellet after harvest. What can I do to prevent this contamination to persist?

Thanks for any help on this,

Best regards,

Peter
