Can anyone identify the structure of Caco-2 cell from this SEM picture?
This picture was taken from the caco-2 cell grew on transwell after 4 day. I am wondering whether this is a contamination or the normal cell structure.
(Scanning Electron Micrograph (SEM) of mycoplasma on the surface of a human fibroblast.)
Great pic! It certainly could be, biochemical tests such as PCR, or a mycoplasma detection kit which outputs via colorimetric or luminescecnce is a superior diagnostic tool. DAPI staining could help, but best to confirm with a biochemical test. Best of luck!

Its looks like contamination. First check on the basis of color of the medium whether is is Red or yellow. Yellow color indicated the contamination or dead cells floating on the surface medium. to fully confirm, go through a mycoplasma detection kit.
hi Tzu Hsuan....... if you are not able to pick the positive band for mycoplasma in PCR cycle, go for biochemical mycoplasma kit test. By looking at picture, i am not confluent that these cell line is affected with mycoplasma. If you can see some back color particles floating over coca line and secondly cell number in not doubling . Then it is contaminated cell line.
