I agree with Dilip Kumar Chandra that is entirely dependent on the question you are trying to address, but generally not. For Reverse transcription PCR I would generally then couple that with qPCR to determine levels of transcripts of interest and or sequencing. If you are talking about real-time PCR there should not be any reason to run on a gel as this will already allow for quantification.
I would be very careful to run RT products on a agarse gel. The level of information is limited, hwooever the risk for a lab contamination is pretty high. Like always, keep all precautinary measures to prevent a contamination.
