Need theories are among the least sophisticated explanations of human motivation/behavior, so I'd be curious if your "new motivational theory" has the conceptual rigor and sophistication that it needs.

Need to know little more about this. I agree with Philip that "Need" theories are sort of obsolete as there are many other variables which affect motivational levels

Though I too am convinced that "Need for..." "desires" or "ach" (Murray) are outdated and too narrow, whilst the construct of organizational related Achievement Motivation (see attachment) are pretty well defined, I am interested to learn more about your approach (="need for information" ;-))

Thanks for your great responses. I have submitted an article to a high-profile journal. I'm waiting for their feed back this month.

The article i submitted is related to the new motivational theory. So, once this paper gets published I'll share my idea with some of you and I will be willing to collaborate  to test the proposed model. I tested the model, it works well in the third world especially in the Arab Countries. But, I don't know how will it work in the USA or Europe ( Western Europe) because i haven't been there.

The proposed model is in my mind since last year, I noted that the motivation of the overwhelming majority of organizational members in different sectors has been changed  because of different factors( I can't mention these and how it has changed until I publish the article I submitted). 123 semi structured interviews with organizational members have been conducted in Jordan to explore a deviant and unethical behavior that has been overlooked by scholars especially in the third world for a long time( Sorry i can't mention this behavior until I publish). Suddenly, the new motivational theory appeared, I investigated more and I became sure with time that it works in Jordan and Other parts of the Arab World. Moreover, I'm here in Cyprus and really it works well also. I hope to know if it will work in America and Europe or not.

I want to go to the USA and Europe to test, to discuss more with good scholars. But to be honest with you, I can't afford the expenses now. Moreover, I'm busy at the with my thesis and I expect to graduate in December or January. The thesis is almost ready but I can't make defense before publishing  that article which is extracted from my thesis.

I’m not sure, that the “new” theory of needs are good idea- in my opinion: it’s not to modern…

I think your theory would be interested for me. However, I have my doubts that the theory of Maslow may have developed in modern conditions. How are you going to achieve the situational aspect of the model?

I'm always interested in improving theory. And, as we can see by the conversations, it is very difficult to evaluate a theory "on paper."

However, you may be VERY interested in a recently published paper of mine where I show how to evaluate theories on paper - and predict their potential usefulness in practical application. That paper also includes analysis of theories of motivation over time.

So, if you can develop a theory with a higher score, you can make a very good case for why your theory should be considered an improvement over other theories in the field - and why it is more deserving of research funding.

I'm waiting for an offer from a reputable university to do postdoctoral degree or to be a research fellow to reveal my theory. The theory is simply consisted of two items, the two items are resulted from individual and/or environmental factors ( based on the personality type).

Really I need a help from prominent professors to clarify my ideas. I haven't got any help from anybody because some professors in the Middle East are opportunist and exploitative, they want you to do everything from A to Z and after that they ask you to put their names first on your paper.

You don't have to castigate your professors in the Middle East, I believe you can discuss and agree the terms and conditions before you start your project. You may find it difficult to find a professor in a western University also if they're aware of your castigating approach. Just a suggestion!!!
