I do not know if these suggestions are common approaches. (1) You could use the helicase inhibitor Amenamevir (ASP2151). (2) If you think carefully about helicase assay, then you could actually inhibit helicase activity with 20 μl of a solution containing 10 mM Tris-HCl [pH8], 5 mM EDTA, 5 μM cold competitor [MDJ1], 0.5% SDS, and 1 mg/ml proteinase K was added and incubate for 15 min at 37 °C.
