Hello everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well and is keeping safe.

I was wondering if someone could please help me in that I want to use statistical analysis to measure whether different genera (all related in one Order) have differences in their number of specific categories of proteins (e.g., those relating to transporters or carbon metabolism).

I did find phylANOVA {phytools} (http://www.phytools.org/static.help/phylANOVA.html); however, from reading, it can only handle continuous variables.

Therefore, does anyone know of one (a test to compare the mean of discrete variables between groups and taking into account phylogeny) that can handle discrete variables but also a non-parametric test (e.g., Kruskal Wallis test)?

Thank you very much
