I am trying to do a flow simulation around this airfoil but everytime the face mesher fails around the dimple, how do i split the airfoil to get a finer mesh?
It is very complex and requires high precision in design, and then a large number of elements, and a high-capacity computer
If you could use ICEM, split block at the starting and trailing point of the "dent", and apply o-grid function in that block, it will help in adapting the mesh over the curvature (dent/ dimple).
Unfortunately i am using ANSYS 2020 student version and ICEM is not included in that. Is there any other way around it?
Hey guys Dahmane Mouloud Nayhel Sharma i applied inflation along with face sizing and run the simulation in fluent for Spalart Allmaras turbulence model and i am getting wall y+ value between 1 & 5. Is it accurate? or should i try to get y+ value around 1?
I suggest to reduce the domain size and then refine the grid near the dimple.
