Can anyone explain me the exact relationship between zeta potential and surface charge of negatively charged carboxylated microspheres?
I am more interested in converting zeta potential values to surface charge density.
Is there any straight-forward way/equation that does that?

The zeta potential arises in the diffusion layer of nanoparticles during electrophoresis. The location of the diffusion layer rupture and the area are not known. Therefore, the surface charge density cannot be determined. The theory cannot be tested. Therefore, there is no formula.
@ Mit, yes, no formula is developed so far. Actually, the Zeta-potential of a particle arises from its surface charge density (i.e. the greater the number of charged ligands on the particle per unit surface area, the greater the magnitude of the particle's Zeta-potential). Moreover, it depends on pH also. I guess under neutral pH the zeta potential and surface charge density are the same.
I will turn the question around and ask:
What is the surface charge of the microspheres with the charged polymer layer?
What, even, is the surface?
Presumably, the polymer layer is permeable to the surrounding liquid and the charge arises from discretely located charge groups. Both of these points mean that conventional double layer theory for zeta potential becomes invalid. The very concept of a zeta potential doesn't even apply.
