There is theoretical possibility of disulfide bridges confirmation with Raman frequencies from 485cm-1 to 500cm-1, but it is a bit unusual. There are even experimental proofs for some model samples. Maybe you heard about (experimental) evidences such confirmations in proteins, especially in thrombin (or albumine/cysteine/ ).
In proteins, peaks around 510, 525 and 540 cm-1 are associated to the three torsional angles in the
C-S-S-C groups: gauche-gauche-gauche (ggg), gg-trans (ggt) and tgt conformation respectively (Van Wart and Scheraga, 1986, Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 83 , 3064–3067).
Good examples of –Sjavascript:-S- in model proteins come from lysozyme (Carpentier et al. 2010, Structure 18, 1410–1419) and insulin (Zheng et al. 2004, Protein Sci.13(5), 1288-1294).
