When I try to add the accepted publication to my preprint(s), I receive the following message:
An error occurred The current account does not have permission to modify the publication.
Does anyone else have this problem?

- I am the first and corresponding author
- I contacted the Researchgate helpdesk, but so far no answers
Do you mean your publication "Defying Decomposition: The Curious Case of Choline Chloride"? The problem may be that the data and the full text were imported from Springer. There are now two entries for the preprint in your profile. You may merge these by making them identical (See the section "Why are there duplicate research items on my profile?" in the help page https://help.researchgate.net/hc/en-us/articles/14293081125777-Reviewing-editing-and-featuring-your-research to get instructions). However, it is not recommended to merge the preprint and the final versions. You can link the two pages (preprint and publication), see "How do I link my preprint to the publication page for the final version?" in https://help.researchgate.net/hc/en-us/articles/14293104044177. The three preprint entries might all have the same title but are different versions on ChemRXiv. Hence, I wish to keep them separate (although showing them all is indeed redundant).
As for your last suggestion, that is the procedure I tried to follow, and then I got the error described in my first post. Do you know how to avoid the error?
Unfortunately, I cannot help with this. And it seems that the support team does not have enough capacity to reply quickly to all requests. My only suggestion is to use the "Comments" section in both the preprint entries and the final version. I have the same problem. I have asked for help from RG. Do not know if they will ever respond.
Souvik Bose Well, it has been almost 6 months and still no answer. For the latest preprint version, the problem was automatically resolved. Researchgate figured it out and linked the two files (I think because chemRXiv did). I chose to remove the two older versions from my Researchgate account.
