Hi,

I need to do exploratory factor analysis in R studio. The Cronbach's alpha is low (0.5). There is no way of bringing it up, even by removing questions with poor corelations. I used a standardized questionnaire, so I am puzzled why my data are so inconsistent (I administered it in another language though). Any ideas why that might be?

I want to verify by EFA if the questions in each of my items are actually measuring the same construct. How do I do this? Do I do a separate EFA for each construct or for all questions (of all items) together?

Also, any tutorials for doing this in R studio (I don't have any commercial software?

Thanks in advance!
