I would recommend that please consult the 24th edition of "Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater" published by the American Water Works Association. The methods have been updated in this edition published 13 January 2023. This edition contains 82 updated methods, as well as 4 new sections.

Since simulation is not my expertise, I did not help in updating, or writing that part as a new section. You can Search for the electronic edition on the web site of AWWA, or simply searching for the 2 the edition of the book.
