From this picture I cannot know if it refer to bacteria death or sporulation (central spore)
note this bacteria observed after 24h from incubation. This bacteria isolated from salt marsh. Stained with simple stain , gram positive bacteria.
You cannot see the presence of spores using this staining.
To see the spores you should stain bacterial cells with one of spore-specific stains such as fuchsin, or malachite green or so.
You should stain it with spore staining to detect the presence and position of endospore

When you do the endospore stain make sure you use a positive and negative control.

Bacteria produce endospores in hostile environments. It is a form of duty (resistance) and dessimination. The image does not show any spore.
Your bacteria live in a salty environment, it can not produce spore.
To make sure, use the specific colorants.

Unfortunately, the presence of spores cannot be confirmed in your photo.
While growing my Bacillus strains (also from marine origin) for sporulation analysis, I usually supplement my media with 5mg/L of MnSO4, which leads them to sporulate within 48h (I sometimes incubate them up to 5 days).
Using this culture, you could either perform malachite green stain as stated before, or you could prepare fresh mounts and observe them in phase contrast microscope (no stain needed).

I do hope you have used malachite green or another endospore specific stain to determine if your bacteria is a spore former. Also, there ARE many endospore formers in the ocean, I give some interesting links below.
