I tried the Heckman selection first but my rho was 0.99. Most likely the variables that determine the selection also influence the outcome of interest (that makes theoretically sence in my case) so I'm trying the Sartori selection method but there are hardly exampes...

You may want to consider using a hurdle model. There are several to choose from in Stata based on the variable type of your dependent variable. Type: search hurdle

i think Ariel has said it all but then if you are not satisfied. You can actually join register with statalist and from there you ask all questions about the use of stata.
