After installing the PROCESS v3.5 tool, I ran a mediation model 4 with three variables (N = 125). The warnings below showed up on the output window, and the status at the bottom shows, "Running CONTINUE>..." and nothing happens after that for a long time.
I have tried these suggestions (a) creating a folder under the root directory, (b) enabling the "sh" application for full file access, but no solution. If you have PROCESS works for you on MacOS 10.15.7 with SPSS Statistics 27, please HELP!

Dear Long Ho PROCESS is running on both Windows and Mac OSs. However
there is an issue in the most recent version of MacOS related to file access permissions.

I have the same issue and so does a student of mine. We are both using 3.5 PROCESS and 27 SPSS. I am on a Mac and he is on a PC. The issue noted on the PROCESS download page does not solve this issue. I have tried installing PROCESS 3.4 and 3.3 and the same occurs. So it is clearly an SPSS issue rather than a PROCESS issue. The plot thickens.
I am having the exact same problem! I was using PROCESS 3.5 with SPSS v26 last week with no problems, but have had to update to v27. Since then I keep getting the same error - has anyone found a solution yet?
I'm having the same issue and only updated to v27 in the last few days - no problems until now. SPSS also seems to get quite buggy and won't run anything (even correlations) after I've tried using PROCESS. Very interested to see if anyone has a solution for this please!
I've tried installing all the patches for SPSS too. This helped some of the glitching. Initially just opening PROCESS it would flicker and not be operational at all. Now I can move variables in and select options but get these error messages. Sigh! No solve as yet but will watch this thread closely in the hopes someone comes across the fix.
I am experiencing the exact same problem. I am using a Trial version of SPSS though. I don't know if it has to do something with it. There were some users in Reddit who said it might be because of the Trial version.
Same problem here. Very frustrating. SPSS v27 and Process v3.5. I thought I was doing something wrong so I'm glad it's not me.
Hi everyone. I'm told Andrew Hayes has been made aware of this issue. So fingers crossed something may come of that. It seems there is something happening with how SPSS 27 particularly interacts with the UI Builder. Evidently if you run PROCESS in syntax mode you can get obtain output.
The same here, SPSS 37 and Process 3.5, so frustrating with it as I have tried many times and restarted the computer many times.
SPSS finally solved the problem (just a tiny grammar change in the syntax)! Here is what they told me:
" You need to update the process.spd file to make sure it work with Stats 27. The steps as following:
- Open the Custom Dialog Builder (Compatibility mode) from Extensions > Utilities > Custom Dialog Builder
- Open the process.spd file in Custom Dialog Builder.
- Go to line 1646 of the Syntax Template.
- Change the "couldn't" to "could not", then save and reinstall this spd file.
Now the analysis will work successfully.
