Does pristine MXene on electrodes or in buffer show redox peaks? How can such signals be suppressed to avoid interference in electrochemical tests?

I'm investigating the electrochemical behavior of MXenes and would like to know whether they inherently produce redox peaks, even without any target analyte. Any suggestions on how to minimize or eliminate such background signals would be highly appreciated

Pristine MXenes can exhibit redox peaks due to their pseudocapacitive behavior, influenced by surface chemistry and termination groups. To suppress these background signals, strategies include surface functionalization, electrochemical conditioning, optimized electrolyte selection, and structural control of MXene layers.
