I have access to an old bottle of Percoll; might be as much at 10 years old. Does this stuff change density, become toxic, overtime? Any easy tests with cultured cells to test it out before I commit to using it for hepatocyte preps?

The bottle has been stored in a glass bottle, in a glass front refrigerator, exposed to fluorescent but not sun light. Doing a sterility check is a good idea:-) For the blood, would that be isosmotic, eg, 1 ml 10x buffer + 9 ml Percoll?
