Since NaCl dissociate into anion and cation it is considered a source of electrolytes. For humans, NaCl functions in maintaining and regulating extracellular fluid volume. While salt is essential for humans, plant absorbing Na and Cl from soil must use pumps to remove these ions for the cytoplasm. So for humans, Na and Cl are micronutrients; however, for plants, high levels of NaCl in the soil are toxic.

Technically speaking both sodium and chloride are micro-nutrients because they play important roles in the body both in terms of electrolytic balance and transport mechanisms across membranes both in animals and humans. In livestock farming it is common to provide salt leaks eg for cattle. In humans we do also have recommended salt intakes but the problem is that on average most people exceed the recommendations with possible negative health consequences thus giving salt a bad name. Perhaps that is why you even ask if sodium and chloride are micro-nutrients. My response is an emphatic yes but with caution because most of us do not need as much salt as we consume!

As dietitians we do not consider salt (NaCl) as a micronutrient - but we consider that it breaks down to Na+ and Cl- which the body uses as electrolytes and these are called micronutrients. We do consider salt as a dietary requirement for humans and animals. Yes, 1200 -1500 mg/day is optimal, but less than 2300 mg (one teaspoon) is the recommended amount for health individuals.

Natrium and Chloride belongs to 7 essential macrominerals (mineral that is needed by the body in large number) together with calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and sulphur. Therefore it is important to get sufficient intake of natrium and chloride and the largest source is NaCl or salt.

I don't think they're belong to micronutrients family like vitamins and microminerals/ trace element that is needed in a very small number (less than 100mg/d).

NaCl does  not act as a micronutrient . Excess of it may create salinity to the soil.

Our species have come out of the sea water, that was a while ago. This is why the microelement composition of our blood plasma is identical with that of sea water - but - not the present one, the ancient sea water. NaCl itself is a macronutrient, providing the needed electrolyte and the osmotic pressure, but mineral salt provides much more: the microelements whose partcular role in the body we are only barely toouching and guessing. But beyond any doubts, we need them badly. Unfortunately, the salt from old salt mines is purified - the aesthetics kills the nutrition. The pink Himalayan salt is rich in  microelements, I use it for sprinkling on my food, but not for cooking, because I do not know whether some of its microelements may be of a too high concentration; I remember the case of a village in Turkey where everyone is very sick and the average longevity is in twentees - all that because of a high concentration of fluorides in the local waters. The sea-salt presently produced has two shortcomings: 1) it does not have the optimum ancient proportions of microelements; 2) it contains the modern contaminants and fecal bacteria.
