Hi, I'm performing MTT assay recently and found out the purple color seems to fade through time.
The color would fade from like fig.1 to fig.2 (schematic, different plate) in around 3 days, no matter if I store the plate at 37C or in RT.
Although it doesn't infect measurement within 24hrs, I still want to know if this happens generally.

That doesn't happen with my MTTs. In general over time they get darker as the solvent evaporates.

this may be the result of re-formation of formazan crystals. You can make sure about that by observing them under a microscope or by resolving them so the purple color comes back.
Additionally, if it is the case you have to take care while you are carrying out MTT, so these crystals are gonna affect your results
