Jurkat human T cell line (E 6.1) is heterogeneous with respect to CD3 surface expression, when subcloned, using limited dilution method, into 3 clones, they stably expressed different levels of CD3. Clone 217.6 expressed low levels of CD3 (CD3 low), clone 217 .9 showed high CD3 surface expression (CD3+) and on clone 217.7, CD3 expression was bimodal, low and high (CD3 low/+).
