As we know that the heat transfer through conduction occurs due to the physical contact of matters.
I want to know that can heat conduction also occur between a solid and a fluid?
For example,
if there is cold water that is not moving, it is at absolutely stationary, and we put some hot matter, may be a hot rod. In this case, conduction will be there?

Convective thermal transfer is due to the displacement of molecules that induces a macroscopic displacement of thermal energy: it occurs in fluids (liquids or gases) and at the interface between a solid and a fluid.

Yes it does:
Heat Transfer by Conduction happens between two solid interfaces, two fluid interfaces which stationary, and between a solid and a fluid (stationary) interface.

Of course it does. However, diffusion (conduction) effects will be mixed with advection effects due to the buoyancy forces. As an example, in heat transfer modeling, the no-slip condition, that is quite commonly used, involves conduction from a solid to the fluid that bathes the solid. In modeling heat transfer in porous media, the effect could be captured numerically by considering low values of the Rayleigh number.
Conduction: Heat transfer between adjacent molecules.
Ex. Metal spoon in cup of hot coffee
Convection: Heat transfer through flow of liquid/gas
Ex. Air rising over hot blacktop parking lot
