during lift off process for introducing metal contacts to my graphene device, I used DMSO instead of acetone but after the process my graphene was completely destroyed. Does anyone have an idea why?
To answer the title, check the 2D peak using Raman spectroscopy whether you have a single layer graphene. If it is a single peak, you have a single layer, otherwise it is multi-layered.
I have not used DMSO , but some reagents have strong surface tension on the graphene, which could damage the material. You can try to reduce the soaking time and avoid cleaning the graphene with deionized water.
