@Igor: because what we know from experiments is that electron acts like wave. Only later on we learn wave-particle duality, which we call Copenhagen interpretation. I guess that Schrodinger and de Broglie were correct that everything is wave. De Broglie gave his nobel lecture witn title: the wave nature of electron. Am i wrong? Best wishes
