Cetyl alcohol is soluble in solvents like acetone and alcohols but not water. Cetyl alcohol is a waxy substance at room temp with a melting temp at around 50 dC.
If I want to dissolve cetyl alcohol in a solvent at room temp, will it dissolve? Or do I need to heat the mixture to CA melting temp?
Originally, I was thinking I would have to heat it. But then I thought there are substances that are solid at room temp but still have the ability to dissolve at room temp...

In my view, this substance can be dissolved in the solvent below its melting point.
Solvation in this term can happen due to their intermolecular interaction between cetyl alcohol-the organic solvent (ether, alcohol, benzene), however, their solubility in each type of solvent would be different (due to their selective molecular interaction). physical aids, such as heat or sonication, can do faster to solubilize the substance, and sometimes it would increase its solubility.
