In case of electrocatalysis, if we use gold nanoparticles stabilized by different organic moieties like flavonols, curcumin, curcuminoids, PVA, citrates, etc. Will it decrease the efficiency of the electrocatalysts towards oxidation of electroactive molecules such as dopamine, serotonin, ethanol and methanol? Will it increase the poisoning on the electrode surface?

It is necessary to get rid of capping agent located on the catalyst surface by washing with various solvents. Capping agents that form coordination and covalent bonds with nanoparticles are not suitable. The mechanism of catalysis is that the molecules of a chemical reaction are adsorbed on the surface of the catalyst, form an activated complex with it, and reduce the activation energy of the reaction.
Could you please specify which nature are you referring. Can you mention exactly which nature, increases or decreases the electric property of AuNPs?
