Does anyone know the method of changing the as-welded columnar austenite microstructure into equiaxed austenite microstructure in the weld metal of the austenitic steel? Thank you.
This figure indicates the as-welded columnar austenite microstructure.
Dear,
Did you try heat treatment, put material at temp. high then austenitisation temp.?
Weld metal is cast microstructure.
Heat treatment at certain temperatures (Normalising ~ 1000°C) for several hours should get rid of the as welded microstructure.
Dear Harald Rojacz. The weld metal is the full austensitic microstructure, how can we conduct the normalising treatment?
Why does the Co make the CCT curve move leftwards? Why do the Al and Co raise the Ms point? Thank you.
