Does anyone know the forming conditions of epsilon and alpha martensite? Thank you.
The phase diagram actually shows that epsilon is formed at high pressure. Therefore on observes it in shock-deformed steel (explosions). Also in meteorites the transformation of bcc into epsilon and back is assumed for so called cross-hatched ferrite.
You need to specify your question because both martensites may be strain induced or thermally induced by quenching or as Gert already said high pressure.

About strain induced martensite in austenitic stainless steels please specify what do want to know. In general for epsilon strain induced martensite low strains and low temperatures are best conditions for transformation for alpha prime strain induced martensite high strains and low temperatures. The chemical composition of course most important factor.
