I'm having problems wity my tomato (micro tom) seeds, I am doing a manual scarification process, but it is not very efficient in terms of the time it takes to do it for one seed. So I would like to know what methods (physical, chemical) I can apply for this type of seed.

Dear Diana.
In order to prepare your tomato seeds for germination, I advice you to do primary trials with different techniques then compare them to see which one is more efficient, you can do the techniques below:
1. scarification with more though sand paper
2. infusion with hot water ( you let them get cold with water before you remove them)
3. immersion in HCl solution (50%) for 1 minute, then rince with water.
4. treat them with oxygenated water (H2O2) solution
then do your trial and check which technique led to better results. good luck for your experiments,

depending on the strength of seed coat you can try chemical scarification if you are not having seed scarifier.
