Hi, I'm doing a study comparing THP-1 cells to differentiated iPSCs. Recently I read that THP-1 cells are actually promonocytes.

I'll be utilizing Colony Forming Cell Assay using methylcellulose to differentiate iPSCs and at the end of the assay myeloid lineage colony forming units (CFU) will be formed. 

So my question is can I get promonocytes from these CFUs? If so, how do I do it without letting them differentiate into full monocytes/macrophages?

Any detailed protocols would be useful as well. I appreciate the help, thanks.
