I´m interested in buying the minION basic starter pack, I would like to know how many samples can I sequence with that pack.
In the other hand , how many samples can I run at the same time and how often I need to change the reagents.

The basic starter pack costs $1,000 and includes the sequencer itself, 2 flowcells, and reagents to prepare 6 libraries for sequencing. Your further expenses will depend on what type of libraries are you going to prepare (direct RNA, cDNA, or amplicons). You also might want to use Barcode Expansion Kit to be able to multiplex samples together. I can give you an example of the cost of the amplicon-based multiplexed library preparation:
- Flowcells can be reusable. Flonge flowcell costs $90, MinION flowcell - $900 or cheaper if bought in bulk;
- Ligation kit (6 reactions) - $600 + approximately $900 for the required reagents;
- Barcode Expaction kit (12 barcodes, 6 libraries per barcode) - $288.
So this would be the approximate cost on top of your usual expenses for extraction, PCR, bead purification, and fluorometric quantification.
